The precinct has substantial stairs and exposed paving, but public foyers have lifts. Ask Front of House in the Box Office Foyer for lift access to the Concert Hall or Joan Sutherland Theatre; the Drama Theatre, Playhouse and Studio use the street-level Western Foyer. The standard tour is unsuitable for wheelchairs and walkers: book the dedicated step-free Mobility Access Tour. A free courtesy bus usually runs (except Sundays) from Circular Quay opposite Wharf 2 to the forecourt, and a wheelchair-accessible buggy can transfer visitors dropped at the Macquarie Street Gatehouse, 160 m from the building.
