Step 1
Choose public shore access or a boat ramp
Torpy Park is the practical free shore-access start. A trailered boat requires use of a Town ramp.
Step 2
Park
Use Torpy Park parking for shore visits. At ramps, parking is limited; Schoolhouse Bay and Thirsty Whale list temporary boat parking, while Cedar Street has extremely limited parking.
Step 3
Pay ramp permit if launching a trailered boat
Town of Minocqua charges US$10 per tow vehicle for a daily permit, enforced April 1–November 30. Pay by scanning the ramp QR code or through the Town online landing-payment system. This is a launch fee, not lake admission.
Step 4
Inspect and launch watercraft
Remove plants and animals and drain water from boats, motors and equipment before moving between waterbodies. Follow boating ordinances posted at the landing.
Torpy Park has Town-listed wheelchair access, parking and restrooms, making it the best shore-access option. For a level lake view, use the downtown Bearskin State Trail trailhead and Lake Minocqua trestle: the crushed-granite trail is level, about eight feet wide, wheelchair accessible, and has accessible parking and restrooms. The Town does not publish ramp-gradient, transfer-platform or adaptive-launch details for boat launches; contact the Town before arrival if an accessible water launch is required.
