Day: Weekdays, especially outside school holidays, are easier for sand space, parking and meals.
Time: 7–10am for cooler sand, clearer light and generally less wind; swim only between flags during lifeguard patrol hours. · Late afternoon for coastal-walk views and photographs; allow enough daylight to finish safely.
Avoid: Do not swim without red-and-yellow flags, during heavy rain or for at least 24 hours after, or when surf exceeds your ability.

Cafés, takeaway and restaurants are immediately behind the beach on Campbell Parade and Hall Street.
Free public barbecues operate until dusk; bring supplies and do not use glass, charcoal or open fires.
Toilets are at North Bondi, South Bondi and Bondi Pavilion; outdoor showers are available.

Skip it if

Skip swimming if you want guaranteed calm water or are unwilling to follow surf-safety instructions; visit for the promenade and views instead.
